Who Are We?

In 1992 a local group of concerned 4-wheelers united to form what is now known as the Eastern Morrison County 4-Wheeler Club. The clubs mission statement is "to promote the responsible use of 4-wheelers and to develop recreational trails".

The club currently has approximately 100 members and is sponsoring the "Soo Line Trail" from Highway 10 north of Royalton east to Mille Lacs County. We currently take care of 28 miles of trail. The Soo Line Trail is owned by Morrison County and is a multi-use recreational trail.

In 1993 the club purchased 3 acres of land on the Hillman Creek, about 8miles east of Genola. This land was dedicated a park for recreational use. The property has a circle entry and exit and is located on the back side of a granite pile that was made during the early days of the railroad track development. The park has a 15x20 insulated shelter, picnic tables, a outdoor grill and a wonderful view of the Hillman Creek. The Eastern Morrison County 4-Wheeler Club meets the first Thursday of the month at the shelter building throughout the summer(May-October) and at the Red Rooster Bar in Genola during the winter (November-April). Meetings start at 8pm, all guests are welcome.

The Soo Line Trail is open for 4-Wheelers from April 1st to October 31st each year. It is a wonderful trail with unique things to offer besides being the beginning of the longest 4-Wheeler trail developed in Minnesota, the Soo Line Trail runs from Highway 10, Royalton to Superior Wisconsin.

Trail Ambassador Program

Trail Ambassadors are specially trained volunteers, sponsored by quaifying organizations, who play a critical role in assisting land managers efforts to provide a recognizable presence on the lands they enjoy while providing a positive and informative role model for Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) and trail users. Volunteer Ambassadors are responsible for greeting fellow outdoor enthusiasts, educating trail users, giving minor aid in emergencies, and providing useful information about responsible OHV use on public lands.

Trail Ambassadors from our club include:
Dan Scholl, Kevin Hennen, Tim Feiler, Dan Kowalczyk & Dustin Wroolie
